To Jeff Monaski:
The Shins have just released a new album titled Heartworms, and are starting on another North American tour to promote it! They will be performing in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday, June 15th, and we are writing to you to discuss the possibility of working with your station for another event, while the band is in town. They will have a short five day break between their show in Anchorage, Alaska and their show in Brooklyn, New York, and we would love the opportunity to play one of your WRRV Sessions at Newburgh Brewing Company, during this time period.
The Shins are the perfect band to perform for this radio event, as their music is a unique mixture of indie, alternative, and folk rock, with Beatle-esque, and Beach Boys inspired melodies, which is the music you often exhibit on your station. As WRRV has shown their support for The Shins music, giving many of their songs airplay, we know their new album, with creative singles “Name for You,” and “Painting a Hole,” will be just as popular with your listeners, as their older hit songs “New Slang,” and “Simple Song,” were in the past. We know that working together will be beneficial to the band, your station, and to the listeners.
Please respond with the date and time that WRRV would like The Shins to perform at Newburgh Brewing Company in June, and any other details pertaining to the event. The band will be available for a meet and greet after the session concludes, and will allow photo opportunities for fans as well.
We look forward to hearing from you!
